Has a company ever held you in the palm of their hand? That was the case with me when I brought my laptop to Madison Geeks. It had suffered a stroke (not an official diagnosis), and suddenly the screen was very dim at maximum brightness and barely visible. I had gone to get it checked out at another company, which promptly said the backlight was out, which, for a touch-screen HP, meant a new screen at $400+.
I needed to back it up first, so I didn't drop it off. In hopes of getting a shorter time estimate for the repair, I figured I'd get second opinion. Madison Geeks said it might be the backlight, or it might be the motherboard--so I left it with them to diagnose the issue. At this point, they could've easily sold me a new screen and I would've been happy to pay up and get my laptop up and running. Instead, Brian searched for information about similar problems online--and discovered that someone with an identical issue had resolved it merely by unplugging and re-plugging the battery.
So he tried it, and the laptop was up and running like new! They kept it another day to make sure the problem wouldn't return (it didn't), and I had it in my hands the very next day. I could've spent five hundred bucks for nothing, but I stumbled across a company that does business with integrity and doesn't rip people off--even first-time customers who would've never known the difference. It was just sheer luck, but now that I know how Madison Geeks treats people, why would I ever go anywhere else? Why would YOU ever go anywhere else?

Professional, reasonable, and fun to work with. They helped me get a custom build up and running and they treated me with respect all along. Andy was patient and helpful, as was Tony. They only did what was necessary and I never felt like I was being taken advantage of. Excellent communication! Absolutely recommend their services! Will be back.

I shattered my laptop screen and had to bring it in for service. Super professional and it now works like a dream. Andy kept me updated on repairs and parts ordered throughout the whole experience. Hopefully I won't need their service again any time soon, but if I did, I wouldn't hesitate to bring it back.

Five stars, highly recommended. I called Madison Geeks to help me diagnose my intermittent internet. I set up a 30 minute remote consultation with Tony. He couldn't find anything wrong with my PC, so he spent the rest of the time giving me suggestions and ideas of what I could do at home to fix the problem. I am really glad he gave me the suggestions rather than have to spend time and money on an in-person visit. Ultimately I bought a new router, as he suggested, which fixed the problem. I will be calling back once I get a new graphics card and we can work on up upgrading my PC.

I cannot speak highly enough about these dudes. They took a frustrating situation with a new build, and sorted the entire thing out for me. The whole process was painless and affordable. We had a lighting strike at our house and run a home based business. We called these guys and urgently needed all our computers diagnosed and repaired. These guys diagnosed and did a full rebuild in just over a day, I then had some issues with other equipment and they helped me troubleshoot over the weekend to get me up and running. These guys are more than willing to go the extra mile and will absolutely be my go to in the future.

My young children accidently spilled water on my Lenovo laptop while it was ON and I discovered the spill 10 minutes later. I dried it off, waited 48 hours and it would not work. I took it to the Madison Geeks Group and Andy met me at my vehicle. I was charged a $50 diagnostic fee at drop off and a few days later I was told my laptop needed an ultra sonic cleaning of the motherboard and lodgic boards and that after reassembly and testing, IT WORKED! For another $47.46, my laptop is back to working order and nothing was lost! I am so grateful!

DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. If I could have, I would give them ZERO stars. Paid for them $50 to figure it out why my computer would not start up. They told me I needed a new hard drive which would be $468 with the requisite cloning and swapping it out. Went to Best Buy for a second opinion. It did NOT need a hard drive. Best Buy checked and said it was working at an acceptable speed/level.
It just needed some minor work and cost about $60.00. Contacted Madison Geeks management and they defended their tech's assessment and refused to refund my $50 saying it was just a matter of time til my hard drive went out. It has been 1 1\2 years and my hard driving is going strong. The only explanation I can come up with WHY is that maybe the tech needed to bump up his numbers to prove his value so he made that up.? IF SO, HE IS A THIEF AND THE MANAGEMENT AIDED AND ABETTED IN THE THEFT.

I called for my mother who is in a senior citizen independent living facility. Her computer kept shutting down. Found out not the computer problem, but a system problem at the center. All seniors have their computers into same router and causes slowing and shut down. Since it wasn't a computer problem, and even though he had a technician come to the apartment, he didn't charge us because he just wants us to use him in the future. He is excellent. He even offered to have the senior living administrator call them and they would walk him through getting the system rebooted.

Stepping into a computer repair store is already fraught with fear because people recognize they are ill equipped to discern the truth of what they are being told; very similar to the new car buying experience. The last thing they need to encounter is patronizing and condescending personnel during a time when they are already despondent over the near death of their everyday tool and the costs they are soon incur. Matt is none of those things.
He is honest to a fault. People have intuition and can differentiate compassion when it is truly offered versus a person who exudes policies, practices and procedures while lacking the qualities of empathy. The qualities I have described cannot be taught; they are innate; either you possess them or you do not and Matt definitely does have them. Thank you Matt you truly rescued us. A special shout out to Andy Krezinski, an administrator who is both professional and genuine and the first person you will meet when entering Madison Geeks.

These guys did a fantastic job fixing my daughter's tablet. It had several issues, which they quickly resolved. Great communication, friendly staff, and- cats! Like Ali and Tracy, I had a bad experience here several years back under the previous owner. My experience this time was the absolute opposite. Highly recommended.

I am very happy with the service provided by Madison Geeks. They were extremely quick and the price was reasonable. I dropped off my computer and the tech was calling my cell with a diagnosis before I reached my office downtown. I had read the bad YELP reviews and decided to give them a chance anyway. I inquired about the negative comments and understand they have a new team in place. Whatever they have done I did not find any of the criticisms to be relevant to my experience. I would recommend them and will go back. Good work by Jody and Matt.

The people at Madison Geeks were very intuitive about the certain upgrades and additions that were available for my laptop. I initially went in for a RAM upgrade but after speaking with their tech guy Matt and doing some research of my own I decided to have a few more hard drive upgrades installed as well. I couldn't be happier with their work, my HP laptop from 2009 runs like a brand new mac. So Thanks to the people there for a fast and quality assured business transaction.

I really, really, really wish I would have read reviews on here before I went to Madison Geeks for service and purchasing a new computer. I've had the same experiences as several other people. We paid for a computer a month ago they said it would be ready in a week-week in a half. And we still have no computer. They say they'll call and they dont.
We have not gotten one call from them, it is always us calling them. We've been calling and calling, half the time no one answers and we have to keep hounding and calling them. I was on hold for close to 10 min today trying to talk to a supervisor and he was busy with another customer and guy said he'd call me back, he didn't. The guy on the phone said he had no idea where the computer was because he didnt work on it?
Do they not keep records, documents; why is someone answering the phone who cant help. I get if its not ready exactly on time by a few days but almost a month now? I called one week ago and the guys said it would be ready by the latest today. My Husband called on Friday (its Monday now) that guy said it would be ready as well. No one has called us its been over a month now since we paid for a product and nothing.
Any place else I could've had a computer within days if the day of. We needed data transfered from an old computer so that is why we choose Madison Geeks but I am realizing that was a huge mistake. I guess I will keep calling and calling until I get a computer or my money back. I am seriously considering contacting the Better Business Bureau; you cannot take someones money and promise them a product within a certain amount of time and then not provide customer service, I might have gotten one slight apology for what is going on, however todays phone call was unacceptable and noting how upset I was no one called me back as promised. I will never go back here or recommend this place to anyone I know.

My experience was identical to that of Charles L. (writer of non-recommended review) and Rebecca S. Basically, they had my computer for 2 weeks and I had to hound them for updates. When I was completely fed up I called to say I was picking it up and didn't care if it was fixed. Manager said my laptop was in Chicago. Just about blew my lid and because of that I got a serious discount on the service. MADISON GEEKS WHY U NO CALL?

My 75 year old mother who has never used a computer found this place. She showed up in their shop with my dad, who has memory issues. The sales tech guy (Lee) showed her the "perfect machine" and walked her and my dad through it. Then I called from California to talk with them about my mom's purchase. I spoke with Kahlal and he was pretty incredible.
They obviously have a lot of experience with all kinds of users including the "technically unsavy" and the memory impaired. He walked me through different options that they had available to assist people with memory issues. The options included imaging and deep freezing, so once my parents have the machine configured exactly how they want it they freeze it so it can always be restored to that exact state. ( I work as a software engineer, damn I want to sign-up for their support too). Anyway, I am going to recommend that my mom buy a computer from here. For not only is it everything she wants and needs, but I feel at ease knowing that the service is available for both of us.
