Often times people come into our store complaining that their computer is running slowly. The quick fix in most people's minds is "more ram." More often than not, the problem is with conflicting legitimate software or multiple types of "security software". Our technicians will assess the condition of your software during our system diagnostics, configure your startups, remove unnecessary updaters and suggest any changes in your security software that might be affecting your computer's performance.Usually, software optimization is all that is needed to get your computer running snappy again.
Yes, new computers are very inexpensive now days, but when you consider the need to move data and programs to the new system and the expense involved in that, it often makes more sense to upgrade a decent system. We carry a nice variety of hard drives if you need more space, optical drives if you need to upgrade to a DVD burner and ram if a lack of memory is your issue. If you need your current hard drive ghosted to a larger one, we have done it hundreds of times so you can trust your precious data with us.

I can only suspect that they didn't even open the laptop for the "diagnostic". Open means take a screwdriver and remove the screws and panels, not just to press the On button. My assumption is, they probably just turned it on, saw that it's turning right back off, and put it aside cause it's 12 years old. Ain't that the truth.(?) I took it to them to find out if Walmart did a good job, 2nd opinion, why is it turning off after logging in to windows? Is it a bad connection?

I was also told that the new fan I recently replaced is not even working which also was a lie. I went back to Walmart to the same guy who worked on it 2 weeks ago. He disconnected and reconnected the 3 wires he originally messed with, when replaced the cooler.
Now my laptop is working fine and doesn't turn off or freeze anymore. Yes, JK Computers were not the first ones who looked at it. Initially it was overheating underneath to the point that it freezes and you have to restart it. They (Walmart) advised me to buy a new fan with no guarantee it'll solve the issue. I paid a reasonable price for the part and labor.
Though it's really really quiet, You can see that the new fan is indeed working while the computer is on and open. You can clearly see it spinning. I saw it. I was also told by the service manager at Walmart that if it was a bad motherboard it wouldn't even turn on at all. It's also odd because when I dropped it off Daniel said it would be $75 to check it.
But next day he only charged me 25. -is it possible it was such a low fee because nothing has actually been touched inside? I wonder. And won't be back. But if they do take your money for nothing they certainly deserve much less than 3 stars and I'm just being nice here. Thanks for literally, nothing.

I have used JK Computer Services before when my computer had been hacked and they were great. This time I had an issue with my phone-- I was receiving unwanted texts over and over. I decided to check with JK before going to the phone store. They showed me what the problem was and how to resolve it, all without charging me for the assistance! I feel that I can trust JK Computer Services and for someone like myself that is not very tech savvy, it's nice to know!

Super fast, clean space, and helpful. I dropped my Lenovo and they told me it broke. They offered to sell me a great Dell XP3 that works amazing so far. I highly recommend JK Computer Services! I give them 10 out 0f 10 stars! I am self employed and don't have an in-house IT team. I have a Sony VAIO that I have been using for the past 10 years and I love it. Some of the keys on my keyboard stopped working so I ordered a new keyboard online and JK Computer Services did an amazing job getting it installed quickly and for a very reasonable price.
I initially took it to Best Buy Geek squad and they told me my laptop was a legacy product and they refused to work on it. Another Mobile tech company told me it would be extremely difficult to install and told me it would take at least 3 hours which was not true. One comment sums it up for me - they do not make you feel stupid. I'm just about tech savvy to get myself into trouble. So when I take mine in for a clean up - I usually go with my tail between my legs because I know I (or my kids) downloaded something dumb. They take it in and clean it up with no eye rolls. Lol. Mostly overnight return - sometimes same day! Always with a great attitude. I started going because they are our neighborhood guys. But I keep coming back because they are good to me.

Awesome service! I spilled water all over my keyboard and I was worried my laptop was fried. I was able to walk in and they took a look at it and told me they would get back to me. The next day, they called and told me I would need a new screen. I gave them the ok to place the order. They did not pressure me and were very transparent, which I really appreciate.
They were very courteous and friendly. Overall it took about six days but that's way better than having to get a new computer. My laptop is good as new and I was not price gouged. If I ever need computer repair again I'll definitely come back here. Thanks J. K. for helping me out!

Great experience, needed to replace the screen on my laptop, places insisted on $50 evaluation fee, this place - no BS. Got from manufacturer the part number, found the screen online, place confirmed that the price is reasonable, came back 2 days later with the screen and laptop - within 2 hours and great price all was complete. Interestingly the place on Clairemont Dr. wanted my login credentials, here I was told - no need, just screen replacement. I wonder, luckily I came here. AMAZING-I am so happy-my headphone jack broke in the laptop-I went to the apple store -they sent me to a watch maker-who sent me to a jeweler -no one could get the broken bit out and they each may have jammed it more-and he worked on it a couple minutes-took it apart and took the piece out-I am thrilled and would highly recommend him for any computer needs.

DO NOT GO HERE -RUDE SERVICE -NO COMMUNICATION -NO STATUS UPDATES I highly recommend NOT taking your electronics here! I took in my laptop for repair, they initially told me that they would get back to me that night. It has now been 3 days without them contacting me to give me an update. I have called them twice for them to tell me they need to extend the amount of time to just give me a quote. Once I finally received my quote the manger was extremely rude and sarcastic when I asked them nicely if they could order parts to repair it.

Great experience! This business removed and replaced an engine on my Phantom 2 drone. Quick same day service. Excellent customer service. Fair price. Karl & his staff were very helpful. I've been going here for ~10 years. He treats every customer's computer as if it's his project. He genuinely does care about fixing every problem. I got 3 different quotes from other computer shops for some slight water damage & charging problems on my MacBook ranging from $700 to $900, I thought it was over for my computer and I and felt stressed as heck bc all of my work is currently online during these crazy coronavirus times $700 is an incredible amount of money and frankly not doable. LIFE SAVED!
I brought it to JK computer services and they fixed it up in 2 hours for an incredible, reasonable price of $95. I could not be happier and am so grateful to have found them! Also they have two cute puppies who cruise around the shop sometimes and that's always a plus. THANK YOU!

I was referred to this shop by a family member. I took an older Dell "all in one" computer to Karl who said he could look at it and try to speed it up. It was booting real slow and running even slower. I also mentioned there was over 600 pictures I had transferred as "jpg" from my android phone to the hard drive. The estimate was between $50-95 for diagnostic/repair.
When I brought it back home a couple of days later, it booted slower and took longer to open files/folders than before I gave it to to him. I could not click on a photo/picture and have it open even though he said the pictures were in a native file format and could be viewed just be clicking on them. However that wasn't the case as I received an error message when trying to open a picture.
He said he had loaded an updated version of the operating system, ran virus software, etc., but also said the computer was like "junk" because it had an old Atom processor with only 4 gb of ram. I ended up paying $95 to get this "junk" back and and should have had a better understanding of what Karl "could do" with this machine prior to leaving it. I hope this helps you in your decisions to repair your "junk" in the future. Repairs like these keeps small computer repair shops likes JK Computers from tanking.

Hello! My name is Alex (JC) and I came into JK Computers this week to get my PC assembled. My particular case is that I am a 23 year-old college student who was in the market for a new PC. I gathered all my parts and was faced with either building my PC with help from YouTube videos or choosing a local computer store to build it for me.
