Review for Cook's Computer Solutions If you are reading this review for a computer repair service, find some other service repair company. This company/owner is nothing but a headache. I talked to Dan on the phone, regarding a printer problem, I told him what kind of printer, what the problem was and he told me there would more than likely be no problem in getting any needed parts from HP, as they do keep parts available. Dropped off my HP LaserJet 5L on February 20th, at 4:45 pm at his house.
A little over 2 weeks later I called Dan for an update. He said he was still trying to locate parts and will let me know what he finds out. Called Dan again on March 26th (over a month now), he said he forgot to call me, he could not get parts. I told him I would pick up the printer, toner cartridge, printer cable and power cord. He said he was on Spring Break and would be in and out, to call first.
I waited until Spring Break was over. Called on April 9th, 2 times and left messages that I wanted to pick up my printer. No return phone call, no contact what so ever. The web site for Cook's Computer Solutions state they are open Monday-Friday, 10 to 5:00. NOT TRUE. His office is in his home with NO office hours. Advertises drop off service, Nope! Advertises techs available to answer questions, you only get an answering machine. Responses to any message takes 6 to 10 hours or days for a call back.
This appears to be more a hobby than a business, no office, hard to contact, no call backs, lousy customer service, you have to adhere to his schedule which is always after 5 in the evening to drop off or pick up. Convenient for him but not for a customer, if I would have know then what I know now, he would not have been my choice, don't believe everything on his web site, most of it is false.
Today is April 20th, two months after I dropped off my printer, after repeated phone calls to set a time for pick up, no response from Dan. I can't wait in his driveway and I will not stoop that low, so I will chalk the printer up to being gone. Guess he will sell the parts off, but I am just tired of the run around, so I quit, no more phone calls. In all honesty, find someone else and save yourself some aggravation.

***BEWARE***Extremely disappointed in this service. My work computer was tied up for over a week. (Work order was made on Thursday, but told not to bring it in until Monday. They were closed on Monday. Took it to them on Tuesday. It was "ready" on the next Monday.) The virus issues were supposedly removed, but they offered to wipe my computer if it still didn't work.
I requested virus reliable virus protection for three systems. When it was returned, the registry dated the viruses from when it was in the care of Cook's Computer Solutions. There was no information concerning an reliable virus protection. It was returned and I was advised to reload the original virus protection. Cost was $100. When I called again, they offered to wipe it again. Afterwards I took it to someone who could be trusted and it was repaired and back in my possession within 24 hours.
Amazing that it didn't take them a 1 1/2 week to run my credit card. There was no offer to refund my money. I was charged $100, down from work for nearly 2 weeks with loss of income, and computer came back worse than it went in. ***BEWARE***

I strongly disagree with any negative comments about Cook's Computer Solutions. I first used their services three years ago when my computer was not working. They fixed the problems for much less than other places. They are very polite and courteous. Since then, they worked on my daughter's computer and done another wonderful job. Anytime I have a question I just pick up the phone and call. Dan or another tech will get back to me quickly. I would recommend them over any computer place in Paducah. Jon
