I've visited this store pre-Covid, and got great service. Today, my Macbook finally needed hospice care, little hope of recovery. Sam and nice his long-haired colleague were more than helpful about the new M1's, but also patiently offered me every reasonable alternative in refurbished machines or trying to drag more life out of my battered 2015 Pro.
While struggling to comprehend how much I'd need to spend to get the latest Macbook, my son offered me an old Macbook Air to tide me over, but his drive wasn't big enough to hold my data, so Sam just took my drive out of my Macbook Pro carcass and transplanted it into my borrowed Air. Voila, quickest fix, so reasonable, so helpful. When I gather my pennies for the upgrade, for sure going to buy from these guys.
Plus they were nice to my dog. And, no shaming me for the grime I seem to accumulate on and in the poor thing. One of those really good human to human experiences and technical common sense too.

Amazing experience at MacMedia. I had a couple of broken keys on my laptop and the soonest available Genius Bar appointment was almost a week away. I walked into MacMedia and Aaraon immediately helped me by consulting with his tech, Stowman, and my keyboard keys were replaced and I was out of there in 10 minutes. I was so shocked at the speed and quality of service. All of my business related to apple products will be done here moving forward

I actually had two issues. One was just something I asked Aaron to do to my iPad that I could have done myself, but not as well. He was friendly, respectful, and professional. And he did it at no charge. Cool. The other issue happened the next day when my MacBook wouldn't start. I went back MacMedia, computer in hand, fully expecting to hear that I'd need a new computer.
Or need to spend hundreds of dollars for repairs. It was Aaron's (well earned) day off, so this time Jacob helped me. The problem was not obvious, and he took a very methodical approach to solving the issue. The first solution didn't solve the whole problem, but the second one has worked beautifully. And all of it was at almost no cost. I like that they don't look for ways to charge.
They look for ways to help. I've trusted them for years, and continue to trust them to find the quickest, easiest, least expensive, and most effective to way to solve my computing issues. When the time comes to repair or replace what I have, this is the only place for me. Thanks to Aaron, Jacob, and the entire staff.

I had an appt at 4pm and they took some rich kids who came in after me and then told me they couldn't fix my phone today and I'd be without a phone until the following day. We had all my stuff printed up and ready to go beforehand to which they told me it would only take an hour or two and I'd have it back today until they came in. If I was there first and my appt was first I should have been serviced first.

I recently brought in an iPad that needed a repair. The staff was courteous and helpful; the repair was quick and I was out of the store in no time. This was not my first trip. I purchased a MacBook around 10 years ago from this very store for college. I recommend this store for any Mac item or accessory purchase, don't waste time at the Apple retail when you can support local businesses for the same price!

DON'T OPEN FILES FROM THIS COMPANY--THEY ARE CORRUPT! I paid MACMEDIA over $250 for a site visit to resolve some tech issues on my IMac. The tech resolved the issue and send a PDF (digital) invoice. I paid the invoice immediately then saved the file on my hard drive. This file was corrupt and has been causing MASSIVE synching issues with my computer!
I even had to pay a different tech to figure out how to remove this file. He could not remove the infected file. Today I called the manager at the Scottsdale store asking for help to remove the corrupt file that their office sent. His 'solution' for help was A) I drive my computer to their offices for evaluation (inconvenient, times consuming and expensive) B) They would send a tech to my home office (at my expense!) I am taking the time to describe this very disappointing example of TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and disregard for loyalty.
If you own an Apple computer --don't use this company. If you own a business, this is WHAT NOT TO DO! Sending corrupt files to customers and not providing the support to help is a clear indication this store needs new leadership.

Every time I have an issue with my iPad, break a phone screen, etc Mac Media is always my first choice. It has the feel of a small business and all the knowledge of Apple all in one. The customer service is always superb, they go above and beyond to make sure you get the proper assistance. The manager John Ethridge and his team will make sure to do their best every single time, it shows that they treat this business as if it was their own. Thank you guys so much for always taking care of me!

Clean shop, genuine and friendly staff, true definition of customer service. Its even the little things like the fact there's always parking available. Staff member AAron saved me $95 and hours at the apple store by giving me honest advice on an old laptop I was sending in for a trade - in. I am happy to have this service spot and store in old town. I will continue to go here first before any chaotic apple store visits cause F*^$ the mall. Thank you MacMedia!

So i came in on a Wednesday to drop my Macbook pro for a display issue. The tests were done and they quoted me $750 for a screen replacement. Luckily I had Applecare+ and was charged $99 + taxes. Although they told me that it might take a week for the parts to arrive and get my laptop back. i received the call on Friday that my mac was ready. I am sure each case is different and everyone has a different experience, but mine was definitely smooth. No complaints whatsoever.

I brought a 2016 Macbook in for a defective keyboard repair that, according to Apple's own website, was to be completely free and paid for by Apple. After a quick evaluation, the technician gave me a litany of things they needed to be done--none of which were going to be paid for by Apple--and that my cost would be just under $900! When I mentioned it was just a few keys on the keyboard that were acting up and that Apple's own website states the repair would be free based on my Macbook model and serial #, he told me they'd have to do a detailed evaluation that would cost me $95.
A few minutes later, I talked to an Apple Store tech over the phone and he verified the repair should be free and set me up with an appointment at the nearest Apple Store for a few days away. MacMedia is very unscrupulous! I am already filing a complaint with Apple that they are attempting to bait-and-switch customers. Avoid this place even if it means waiting extra days for an appointment at an Apple Store.

I had a 9:20 am appointment last Thursday that I scheduled through apple. I showed up and was greeted promptly by Glenn. Glenn quickly had his team inspect my computer and before I knew they fixed the problem. These guys are top notch and much more convenient than the Apple store. Parking was easy and at the store front. That alone saved me a half hour. I highly recommend this store to anyone.

I had some issues with Battery Swell and a strobing Touch Bar. The wait time to get in for an appointment at the Apple Store was over two weeks. MacMedia completely repaired my MacBook Pro in a few days and it's been working awesome. Highly recommend contacting MacMedia for your Apple needs, avoid the long wait at the Apple Store. I'll be going directly to MacMedia from now on! Thank you for your great customer service!

These guys have high ratings and I can see why -- went in to troubleshoot a problematic Mac file structure issue. The tech came out from the back and walked me through a solution and recommended me not pay --- could have easily taken my money, gone into the back, fixed it and I would have been none the wiser. A cool honest play and I will be back for my next service or to buy some tech.

I have a 7 year old iMac that has given me a couple of problems over the years, nothing catastrophic, until recently when it would over heat and shut down, usually in the middle of something important and of course it wouldn't save what I was working on with the shut down. I took it to MacMedia and they tuned it up and it's working like "almost" new. Spoiler Alert, the first time I went to MacMedia was because my Apple Watch had a problem with an expanding battery, which the Apple Store said there was nothing they could do except give me a credit if I purchased a new watch.
Long story shortened, MacMedia checked the serial number, as did the Apple Store, but MacMedia found a recall on that series and a couple of days later I got a new watch. These guys do their homework, they're professional, courteous, and very competent. I recommend MacMedia without reservations.

Brought my MacBook pro in for battery replacement. I was quoted $400. I promptly gasped and told them I'd go somewhere else for half price. I was then told it's that expensive because they also have to replace the keyboard. I'm not sure how they'd know that without testing it at all. It works fine now with the bulging battery. I took it to Tempe and had the battery replaced at $200. The keyboard was fine. I was hoping to try macmedia for repairs since it's closer to me, but I guess I'll be continuing to take my business to Tempe.

Had an appt and was a line out the door. After my appt time I got to the desk and staff couldn't care less about that and wouldn't let me talk about it. Very rude. And told me basically my item was old and I should just buy another one because they are cheaper now. Severe waste of time money and gas.

We have looked for a company to install a home network recently and the quotes were astronomical. After calling Mac Media where we have purchased several Apple devises, we had them come out and assess our house for a network. We purchased a partial system since we have Cox and tried to make it work. Steven was our Mac Media guy and helped us get our system finalized by eventually replaced the Cox modem with a better Apple friendly modem.
He configured it all and it works great at a fraction of the cost we were quoted from other companies. We are an all Apple household and now with Steven and Mac Media's help, we have a system which works seamlessly with all of our devises. Thank you guys!

AppleCare+ sent me here for a 9:40 appointment. Turns out this company DOES NOT do appointments but Apple schedules them lol.so they did handle me as quickly as they could and I am very happy with the customer service. They did the best they could in light of the circumstances. Would recommend, they are professional and the end result is my phone works.

Had an appointment set through Apple, because my brand new Mac's camera stopped working. They said they would have to replace the display. I have no problem with any parts being replaced. They claimed to have installed a new display, but my camera still did not work. I checked my receipt and it said the camera was tested and reported as working. When I called the place to get an explanation I got two completely different stories from two different people.

I took in a laptop with a battery issue, they ran about 30 seconds of tests before saying it couldn't be fixed even though it's a six-month old laptop under warranty because the battery looked fine on their end, but I could leave it there for five to seven days for it to not be replaced under warranty. Then they tried to convince me that it's normal to have your battery drain in two hours if you're a "heavy user, " recommended getting a new laptop, and tried to sell me a three-year warranty.
For what? Pretty sure them wasting my time and not fixing anything is already free. (In response to the inaccurate comments in the reply to this, I'm editing the review to add that they never offered to do further diagnostics, just to redo the work we'd already done, and that I never expected my computer to be swapped out. Luckily, Apple was able to run the tests that MacMedia was unable to.) Again, I'd recommend going to a Genius Bar, though the phone support with screen share with Apple was also far more helpful to me than MacMedia was.
