Parked at 1144 15th Street Garage to attend an evening class at the School of Business. When I went to leave I put the ticket in, it asked me for my card, I put in the card, and it asked me to remove the card. The machine then said my card was declined. It didn't give me the ticket back out, it gave me a ticket that said denied. I called security who told me that I took my card out too quickly, to which I replied I did not.
I followed the prompts. Security told me that someone was coming to help me. I waited 5 minutes and called back. I was told the person was coming from the roof. I waited 20 minutes and called back, and the person from the roof answered and said she'd be right down. All the while they could have let me out but they made me wait. In the meantime, the machine kept spitting out tickets and I kept trying to put them in and pay.
The attendant finally came down and I told her about the issue and she said she was having these issues all day. Instead of letting me out (which the could have done from the beginning), she wrote me a ticket for the payment with a $2 processing fee as if I didn't have the money to pay and they were doing me a favor letting me out. I had 4 credit cards and tons of cash on me. When I asked her why I had to pay a fee when she just told me she was having these issues all day, she rang the desk and told them to let me out and walked away.
