How wonderful to find such a great local business. The friendly staff provide tremendous customer service. They quickly diagnosed the problem with my laptop, enabling me to pick up the repaired laptop the following day. Since it turned out to be an easy fix, they only charged me the diagnostic fee. I will certainly call on Lapfix for any future technology needs. Meanwhile, I will not hesitate to recommend this outstanding business to all my friends.

This is my choice for local computer repair. The people are responsive, extremely competent, and do not attempt to gouge you on prices. You can trust them to treat you fairly, and fix your computer problems quickly.

Laptop Fix assisted me twice. Once to scan and clear my computer of cyberthacking issues. The 2nd time to install several apps and this was done free of charge while I was present. Their service and professionalism is excellent. They always explain what they are doing and are very patient. I worked with Michael who was outstanding. Price was very reasonable. I always leave the store feeling much less stressed and more confident to use my computer than when I came in.

Extremely professional and friendly. None of the local shops were willing to solder anything so we couldn't get it fixed. Just happened to find LapFix while on vacation and not only did they do microsoldering, their quote was much lower than any other quote we got. They diagnosed the problem, ordered the part, installed and soldered the part and cleaned the laptop for us in less than 4 days.

We had a deadline when we returned home and they even expedited the part's shipping for us without us asking and got it ready to go the day before we had to leave. Their shop is clean, their employees are professional, friendly and really know what they're talking about. Their prices are cheap from our experience and would absolutely recommend this place to anybody. Just wish we lived closer!

LapFix replaced my iPhone 8 battery last week and did a great job. I wanted to wait a week to let the battery cycle a few times and check for any problems (i.e. screen, overheat, signal, etc.) before I left a review. LapFix replaced the battery in a timely fashion with no problems. Highly recommend.

I brought my pc in for a body swap to a better case. The guys at LapFix were extremely knowledgeable and attentive when I described what I wanted to do even offering suggestions of cases they believed would provide the best airflow (which I was in need of). Their turnaround time for completing the body swap was exactly as estimated (24 hours) and I could not be any happier with my experience. I would really recommend using LapFix for your computer repair needs.

The Guys at lapfix computer, Was very nice and Professional I walked in off the street with a ECU computer out of a automobile that need it a couple of those tiny microchips replaced. Hey what can I say they hook me up. They did a great job put the computer back in the car and the car runs great. From my experience with these guys I definitely recommend you give them a shot, To resolve all your computer issues.

I used these guys for the first time last week and they are truly amazing. Quick turnaround, technical options, and competitive pricing. They did a great job with repairing my Dell laptop and because of that, I added my MacBook pro. I can make these repairs myself but, their quality and customer service is so high, I consider them a technicians technician. I'm not getting paid to say these things but if they want to give me a discount I'll take it.

I went to Apple and they told me my MAC was not worth repairing and to buy another one. I took it in to get a second option and after an assessment I was told that fixing was possible. My laptop now works like brand new. I highly recommend you use their service. It was great beginning to end and I just saved myself $1300!

Lap Fix rated 5 in service (personally answered the phone whenever I called or quickly responded to voice messages, providing detailed information. Lap Fix rated 4.5 in value (though the repair cost was not a value added price, it was fair market).

No reason to go anywhere else! Great place for computer repair! Very friendly and knowledgeable team. The service was fast and half the price of what another local computer shop suggested. Give them a try if you have an computer / phone issues.

I can't express how helpful and incredibly professional the staff at LapFix has been to me. I took my laptop to them a few months ago, regarding an issue with the hard drive, they called me the following day and provided an update, and offered two solutions with two different price points to fix the problem. They fixed my laptop on a timely basis and had it working as good as new, better then I had seen it work in years.

I recently had another issue with my laptop, (unrelated to the issue beforehand), and they fixed it for me that very same day. I am very grateful to have found out about them, as someone who works from home, my laptop is very important to me. I had an excellent overall experience, and I would strongly recommend them to anyone local.

My daughter spilt some water on my high end MacBook Pro. One repair shop tried and failed to fix it. Apple Genius said they could only do a new motherboard and I'd lose all data. A 3rd repair shop said they'd restore data but not repair the machine. Then I finally found LapFix who both repaired my machine including all my data. And they did it for a reasonable price, and told me I'd only have to pay if they were successful. They took a little while but we super responsive and got it all fixed. I highly recommend them!

If I could give a half star, I would. This place is unprofessional, unprincipled and disreputable. I dropped off an external hard drive, specifically telling the LapFix staff what the problem is and only needed to recover the photos. I asked for a range of costs and they refused to provide it, and agreed to diagnose the problem. When they contacted me later, they said "we can try to recover some of the data for $1,700.

When I asked them why is the cost too high, they told me because the machine they use to recover that data had cost them $20,000." So, basically it came down to over charging customers to make up for their over priced machine. When I asked them what diagnosis they performed on the hard drive, they refused to tell me, saying "we did some tests, " and also refused to answer when I told what is the problem.

Even so, they held my hard drive hostage and wanted me to pay a $65 "diagnosis fee, " which they never mentioned in advance and they never follow up on an email, text, or even phone call. This place overcharges customers. I would never send any work of any kind to LAPFIX again or otherwise utilize any services of this place under any circumstances. I DO NOT RECOMMEND Lapfix services to anyone, anywhere, at any time.

LapFix is quick, efficient, and courteous. They did a great job upgrading the hard drive in my laptop. I will surely go to LapFix the next time I need a repair or upgrade.

They fixed a very water-damaged Macbook Pro at a fixed price, and I'm really pleased. It's been working very well sense, and they were very kind and courteous. They were very busy during this time so they did struggle to communicate what the timing would be, and left me wondering at one point, but were quick to kindly explain the situation when I went to pick it up. Took about 10-11 business days. Thanks guys!

I recently decided to try and repair some of my old MacBooks instead of buying new computers. I decided to reach out to LapFix and see what they could do! After diagnosing and pricing each of the problems (water damage on mother board, bad batteries/floppy monitor, keys not working etc), we agreed to have 1 computer fixed, 1 2012 computer disposed of, and another computer to just have the battery replaced.

They did a fantastic job communicating with me during the process - they called and updated me on the status of each machine, openly priced out the repairs (ranging from 160-360 depending on what it needed) and finished their work within a week (the mother board repairs took the longest). I found the young staff very knowledgeable, willing to answer tons of questions and would recommend using them again.

This review is based solely on value/bang for buck. I was NOT satisfied nor impressed with the service. While all staff was polite, they did not return calls when they said they would, I had to call them three times. When they finally diagnosed the problem (which was a $65 fee) they told me it was going to be TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY FIVE DOLLARS to replace a battery. Here's the thing, I know when you take it to a shop its a convenience charge, but the battery was 60 bucks or less on Amazon.

I called another repair shop in the area and asked what they charged to which they quoted me at 50-100 dollars. I ended up ordering the battery off amazon and replacing it myself. It took me less then 15 mins (I have never opened a computer before in MY LIFE). They were gonna charge me essentially $200 for 15 minutes of labor. I want to support local businesses, but the services here are WAY overpriced.

If the damage to your device is not extensive don't take your device here. I'm sure they are very capable and reasonably polite people, but I'm sorry the services have inflated prices.

Background: I have been building computers since 1989 and have owned almost every PC compatible computer since 1985 (e.g., PCjr, 286, 386SX, 386DX, 486SX, 486DX, 486DX2, 486DX4, Pentium, Pentium 2, Cyrix 6x86, etc.) However, since I now manage multi-billion dollar programs, I don't have the time to do board-level repairs, thus my experience with LapFix.

What happened: I brought in an Alienware Alpha, specifically telling the LapFix staff that I already knew the problem was a blown capacitor on the motherboard and that I wanted them to diagnose the specific capacitor ***because others' proposed fixes of $350 for a new motherboard was too expensive.*** I asked for a range of costs and they refused to provide it, but since they had agreed to diagnose the specific capacitor, I left the machine with them to do the agreed-upon work.

When they contacted me later, they texted"we can do a repair for the motherboard for $365 or recover the data for $195," and refused to tell me what the specific problem was. When I came into the store and asked them what diagnosis they performed on the computer, they refused to tell me, saying "we did some tests, " and also refused to answer when I asked why they didn't perform the agreed-upon diagnosis.

Even so, they held my computer hostage until I paid a $65 "diagnosis fee, " and when I got the computer home I couldn't see any screwdriver or other marks which would indicate they had even opened the computer. If the business isn't prepared to do the service asked for, the business should refuse the work, as it is fraudulent and offensive to charge a diagnosis fee when the customer knows more about the problem than the person who "diagnosed" the machine.

I also note that in their response to this review, the owner still didn't validate what diagnosis they did. I posted this review on multiple sites without changing the text because the facts of the event did not change. They should be very happy that I didn't do a chargeback; based on the owner's response, that is what I should have done.

I took my computer in LapFix. the crew was very welcoming. They diagnosed the issues with my computer (on screen) right away and gave me a date to pick up. That's a place to go for any computer's issue!

My MacBook needed a new battery. Apple said I'd need to leave it with them for 10 days, maybe longer, in order to get it replaced. I use this computer for work and being without it for 10 days wasn't an option. Lapfix did it for me in 24 hours. First they ordered the battery (I paid over the phone in advance) and then called me when it came in. I dropped off the laptop and picked it up a day later. I couldn't be happier with their service!

I dont remember if I wrote a review because its been 6 or 7 months or more? I dont remember. They fixed my battery problem on my old macbook pro 2012 retina when apple AND best buy said they wouldnt touch it because its too old. Its just a backup laptop and the battery was causing me problems. I dropped it off and got it back a week later and viola. Everything works great. I seldom get to revise a review, but I'm taking the time to do a hard revision on this one. I have been a satisfied customer for at least 10 years and have recommended many friends to the business, but I had a terrible experience at the Duke Street store on March 24. I was so angry I wrote to Karim the owner. He immediately contacted me and worked hard to resolve the issue.

He worked personally with me to make it right. When he said he would handle the issue, he did. I'm glad I gave them a second chance, since I'd NEVER had a bad experience with them. I'm back as a happy customer now. It's refreshing to find a business that works with customers without getting defensive or ignoring customer concerns. LapFix does that and more.

Quick, easy, and wonderful staff. My iPhone 8 Plus screen was badly cracked, and within minutes I was signed in and my phone was taken for servicing. I ran an errand in the meantime, and within 35 minutes my phone was fixed! As someone who knows little about repairs, this was such a relief I found the right place. While I hope my screen doesn't crack again, I am thankful to have found Lapfix! Such wonderful and kind staff, and great at what they do. Thank you!

I called over the phone if I could get a diagnostic form filled out by them for my iPhone XR They said yes I came to their place with the phone They said they can't fill out the diagnostic form (for some reason they can only fill out diagnostic forms for models of iphone 6 or older. Which is total horse crap of course) Liars don't deserve to do business

When my 2013 MacBook Pro stopped working, I decided to have it repaired in the hopes of reviving it instead of buying a new one. So I went on Yelp to look at the reviews for Mac repairs, I stumbled upon Lapfix and brought it in. Eric and his team were professional and communicative throughout the process. It turned out that I had accidentally spilled liquid on my hard drive so Eric replaced it. It's now working as new. I would wholeheartedly recommend this shop to anyone in need of a MacBook repair.

Pretty annoyed with Lapfix. I called last week to confirm their policy on repair diagnostics as I have a computer with a wonky charging port and my work trying to determine if it's a repair or replace situation given it's age. Lapfix confirmed the policy on the website that there is no fee for them to assess the computer which I thought was very generous and perfect for my situation, so I was willing to drive a little farther to use their service.

But then when I went to drop my laptop off and was filling out the paperwork, there is a $65 diagnostic fee listed in the terms and conditions. They then tell me their website is wrong, they are "working on updating it" and there is indeed a $65 fee if they diagnose the problem and you decide not to do the repair. While I totally understand the reasoning of this policy, if you spout false information on your website and over the phone, at least show some remorse for the error.

There was no apology for the incorrect information on the website, no apology for me spending my time to come down after being told the wrong information, and no offer to waive the fee as it was their error. I probably would have been working to pay the $65 fee had they been up front about it from the beginning but I'll find somewhere else. Fix your website and your customer service if you want future clients.

Whenever my laptop needs service, it goes to Lapfix. Most recently, it was taking 30+ seconds to build a webpage. I dropped it off and received an estimate within a few days. The price was very reasonable and my 8 year old laptop works as if it was brand new.

Unfortunately, I've had a terrible experience with LapFix. I dropped my iPad off to replace a cracked screen on a Friday. They told me it would be done in a few days. Two weeks later, it was still not done, evidently they had to order a replacement screen. They never called to inform me of the delay, I had to call them to inquire. Finally, I got fed up and went to go collect the unfixed iPad so I could take it somewhere else.

They would not give it back unless I paid them a $65 "restocking fee, " for doing nothing. They never told me about this policy upfront and, in fact, have a sign in the store that says "No Fix, No Fee." Nevertheless, they would not give me back the iPad without me paying them the $65, even though they completely failed to live up to the expectations they gave me. Go somewhere else.

My laptop crashed so I checked out Lapfix based off of the google reviews. Bottom line, Eric helped me out. He was super chill and awesome. The prices were fair/great and I would come here again for any future issues. You come support places like this because of customer service! Thanks Lapfix!

I brought in my iphone here for repair. They gave me a ticket and after that I got a couple of phone calls regarding it from them and then no communication whatsoever for at least 2-3 weeks. I finally called and they said "oh sorry we cant fix it" 2 stars for poor communication. You could call your customers and tell them this and keep them in the loop instead of them having to call you.

I contacted their website on a Sunday, Monday morning (on a Holiday no less), I was both called and emailed as follow up. I went into their shop and when I explained I'd be traveling and need it repaired within a week, Eric diagnosed the problem for me on the spot.

The part was ordered expedited and arrived on Tuesday. I dropped the laptop off, went and had lunch, and it was done within an hour and all for a fair price. I'll definitely be going back and recommending this place!

Overall, they performed the service they promised at a competitive cost. Slight delays due to a poor quality part that was shipped (out of their control), but I respect that they identified the poor quality and rectified. The only drawback was a lack of updates on the progress of the parts ID, shipment, and expected date for completion. It took several phone calls over the course of two weeks to coax the information from them. Make sure you deal with Karim and he will get you the info you need, while providing timely updates! Would return in the future
